Produced entirely in-house by LCRA Communications, this video features Winston, a fifth-generation pecan grower, and his wife Kristen, who have a hand in every step of the pecan process. From planting the trees, to growing and harvesting, to turning them into sweet confections, Millican Pecan Co. has been going nuts providing Texans with quality pecans and pecan-filled desserts straight from their San Saba orchard since 1888.

Through a combination of typography, illustration and animation, the few simple graphics I created help reinforce the unique story of a family’s pecan farming legacy. The organic title animation paired with a classic serif typeface along with the subtle hand drawn illustration in the close of the video contrast and complement the clean and modern corporate typeface within the video, allowing it to not only feel authentic to LCRA’s brand, but also symbolizes how this longstanding pecan-farming family has grown through the generations and into modern day.
